Statewide Texas Clean School Bus Program Opens

Updated: Jan 8, 2020

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) announced on January 7, 2020 that it is currently accepting applications for the Texas Emissions Reduction Plan (TERP) Texas Clean School Bus (TCSB) Program. Approximately $6.2 million in grants is available state-wide for school districts, charter schools, and transportation systems provided by countywide school districts, to replace diesel school buses operating on a regular daily route to and from school with new clean-burning buses like propane school buses.

Grants are available on a first-come, first-served basis to reimburse up to 80% of the cost to replace a school bus with a newer, cleaner model.

The Propane Council of Texas (ProCOT) is available to any Texas school district or qualifying Texas entity seeking to apply for this or other Texas grants who want to make the switch to propane autogas. Contact ProCOT at (800)325-7427 or at info@propanecounciloftexas.org if you need help with school bus grants.
